Insieme Wines 2016 Tempranillo was aged for 48 months in older and neutral oak for an approximate 35% new oak equivalent. It has a deep Ruby Red color that is fairly concentrated. The bouquet opens with aromas of dried figs and rich plums. The very modest regimen of oak adds the slightest hint of tobacco and leather. The mouthfeel is dry, medium+ viscosity with soft and silky tannins and just enough acidity for a clean finish. The palate opens to a mouthful of cherry layered with fig and dill. With a little time, it picks up hints of clove still accompanied by dill and the slightest hints of cedar. The finish is dry but fruity with balanced tannins and acidity. The light regimen of oak allows the beautiful varietal characteristics of dill and cherries, the hallmark of great Tempranillo, to shine.
