2017 Super Tuscan - Bottle

Insieme Wines 2017 Super Tuscan is a blended wine consisting of 63% Sangiovese, 27% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.  It is framed off our 2017 Sangiovese and blended with components of our Signature Blend.  It was aged for 36 months in older and neutral oak for an approximate 60% new oak equivalent.  This wine is unfined and unfiltered to preserve maximum phenolic composition.  It has a rich Garnet color that is fairly concentrated.  The bouquet opens with aromas of figs, tomato and a hint black pepper.  The modest regimen of oak adds a hint of smoke and caramel.  The mouthfeel is dry, medium+ viscosity with ample but smooth tannins and bright palate cleansing acidity.  Like our 2017 Sangiovese the palate opens to a mouthful of tart cherry layered with hints of prune and figs.  The merlot adds just the right amount of rich plum while the cabernet gives the wine more structure and layers of blackcurrant.  With a little time, it opens up to deeper flavors of dark fruit mixed with Oregano from the Sangiovese with hints of cacao.  The finish is dry like a beautiful Chianti with bright acidity.  The Merlot and Cabernet add great length to the finish without overpowering the Sangiovese's subtle flavors of crushed flowers and rose petals.
